Meandering Mutts began in 2013 when a simple favor for friends and their pets grew into something much more meaningful. What started as helping care for dogs in the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC area quickly became a trusted, word-of-mouth pet-care service.
Over the years, life took us to new places, but our love for animals—and our commitment to providing dependable, personalized care—remained the same. After years of serving pet families in different communities, we’re excited to call Santa Fe, New Mexico home.
Today, Meandering Mutts is focused on providing the kind of care we’d want for our own pets: reliable, compassionate, attentive, and personal.

Wendy walks my Labrador Macey 3 times weekly. Wendy is an awesome, gentle, caring person and easy to get along with. She listens to my requests and feedback. She even problem solved in her own time to help with Macey. Macey adores Wendy and loves her walking her. She is confident, reliable, always on time and easy to get along with. Fourth sit and counting…
The “ever-reliable” Wendy and Justin have just completed their forth sit for us – and everything as always went perfectly 😊 After a lovely three-week trip, we returned home to a happy, well-cared for dog and a clean and tidy home. They took Snoop on daily walks and lots of extra “wee” breaks – so a bit of extra work was required. We stayed in touch and got lots of photos and updates of their adventures. We greatly appreciate the level of care you take and you two really are the best!
